NAGISA AUTO
LANCER EVOLUTION VIII MR [CT9A]
The Lancer Evolution VIII MR edition is equipped with a 2 liter engine, but is fully capable of competing in the 3 liter class. The machine displays optimal performance characteristics with effortless tuning. Nagisa Auto achieved this performance goal without using by custom components.
Nagisa Auto is known in the industry to have built the fastest BNR34 in the Kansai area; and their next challenge was to attempt to build a Lancer Evolution that would rule the time attack races.
In order to exhibit the true potential of the CT9A platform design, only the turbo boost pressure was increased. Compared to the Nissan GTR that they had built, this machine may seem a bit lacking but at 1.8 bar of boost, nothing less than 380 horses is unleashed to the pavement. Nagisa Auto truly understands the limits and the capabilities of the 4G63 engine's inner workings.
"We first wanted to show everyone a realistic kind of tuning that actually applied to the average enthusiasts out there. If our goal was to set a new record and build a full-on race machine, the car enthusiasts would not have taken much interest in this vehicle." Claims Mr. Sugihara of Nagisa Auto.
Although the engine modifications have been held back to a certain degree, they went all out on the suspension mods. It consists of the latest product from Tanabe, the Sustec Pro Seven with the adjustable damper TEAS unit. The ride quality can be changed inside the cockpit to various settings for the circuit or just driving around town with this device.
Although this machine is a demo vehicle, it is also used to test fit NAMS prototype components including suspension arms. These arms extend the front arms by 15mm and the rear by 10mm, enabling the usage of wider wheels. As long as the fenders are rolled, 8J +33 offset rims can even be tucked under the stock fenders. The camber, toe, and the roll center can be adjusted for custom suspension settings.
Nagisa Auto succeeded in creating a fast machine with suppressed power, but makes it up by only modifying the suspension with their exclusive components. Along with a fully tuned powerplant and more power, this machine might be the next king of the circuit.
Nagisa Auto's distinct style of vehicle tuning
ENGINE & POWERTRAIN SPEC
380 hp 4G63 (Max 1.8 bar boost), HKS Power Flow, Racing Suction, GT Intercooler / Trust blow off valve / NAMS full titanium F pipe / Tanabe Ultra Medallion (80mm 100mm tip) / Coolmax 3 row aluminum radiator / NAMS oil cooler x2, high flow fuel pump x2 / Sard 800cc injectors x4, pressure regulator / Apex Power FC, AVC-R / Tilton transmission cooler, differential cooler / Exedy carbon twin plate clutch / Cusco LSD
Turbocharger
The stock TD05HRA-16G turbocharger wheel had been alloyed with titanium aluminum metal. Since the turbochargers on the 5 speed RS model has a restricted design for rally applications, the trim is smaller compared to the 6 speed GSR or RS model. However, the compressor is made to produce more low end torque.
Intercooler
The HKS GT type intercooler was carefully chosen because it proved to be 10% lighter than the rest of its competitors' units. This lightweight unit benefits the vehicle handling characteristics as well.
Differential Oil Cooler
The Tilton oil cooler sits behind the differential. Further along the car, the oil pump used to circulate the oil can be seen. These components protect the LSD from failing during the races.
Exhaust System
The Tanabe Ultra Medallion exhaust system retains the straightest design possible in its main pipe design. Titanium metal was used for the muffler piece.
Interior Spec
Nardi 350mm steering wheel / Dot Com quick release steering hub / NAMS hub spacer / Recaro SP-G x2 / NAMS low profile seat rail / Sabelt 4 point seat belt / Max Racing multimeter / Apex boost gauge / Safety 21 11 point roll cage
Interior Panels
The Max Racing multimeter gauge mounted on the center dash panel along with the Apex boost gauge provides the necessary information to the driver. Aside from the gauges, the interior is as stock looking as possible.
Chassis & Weight Reduction
The chassis strengthening was kept minimal with a Safety 21 roll cage, NAMS support beams, and Okuyama strut bars. Carbon fiber hood and trunk from C-West and rear FRP doors and other body components pitch in to weight savings.
NAMS Original Suspension Arms that Provide Vast Adjustability
SUSPENSION & BRAKES
Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven, TEAS / Swift Springs (F16k R12k), sway bars / NAMS suspension arms (roll center adjuster, full front pillow joints) / Rear lower arm, pillow toe adjuster, upper arm pillow bushings, pillow bushing trailing arms Chassis reinforcement components, Okuyama strut tower bar, F: Brembo F50 brake calipers & RDD 355mm brake rotors/ R: GT-R brake calipers & RDD brake rotors, seido-ya SPL brake pads, stainless steel brake lines

Front

Rear
The Tanabe Sustec Pro Seven units provide full ride height adjustability and the TEAS controls the damper rate. The suspension is set for the circuit at F: 16 kg/mm and R: 12 kg/mm.

Front

Rear
The suspension arms consist of the NAMS "Funbari" series arms. The lower arms are featured with a longer span that increases the variation of alignment options. The front arms have roll center adjusters incorporated within for valuable merit.
EXTERIOR SPEC
C-West carbon fiber hood, front bumper spoiler, carbon canards, side skirts, carbon trunk, GT wing, rear bumper spoiler / Garage HRS front 20mm wide fenders, NAMS 30mm custom rear wide fenders / Marche FRP rear doors / NAMS LED tail lights / SSR type RS (10, 5J +15) / Direzza Sport Z1 (265 /35-18)
Front End
Carbon fiber canards were combined with the C-West front bumper, along with 20mm wide HRS fenders. The SSR Type RS (10.5J +15) with Direzza Sport 265/35-18 are tucked securely within the body lines.
Rear End
NAMS had fabricated their own custom 30mm wide rear fenders for this application. The rear combination tail lights are a NAMS original component as well and highly draws attention to the overall looks of the vehicle.
